The sun of summer was entering through the window and hitting her face as she was making a tall jug of lemonade. She then noticed the paper towel holder was empty.

“We ran out of towels.” she said.

“Wanna go out together?” he asked.

“Mhm,” she mumbled.

As she put on her sandals, he couldn’t help but notice a birthmark near her ankle. He needed to ask, “Did you lose weight?”.

Her ears got a little red, “Did you notice? All those days of eating better finally paid off.” A faint smile appearing from the side.

“I’m happy for you,” he said. “You’ve been working hard. As a prize… let’s go have an ice cream!” he joked.

She looked at him, then rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide her grin.

“You just want me to keep my belly.” Swatting his arm lightly.

As they walked hand in hand, she noticed how the leaves were moving to the north. Perhaps a sign of the future that was to come.
